MRDA Playoffs and Championship Announcement

The Men’s Roller Derby Association is proud to announce the teams participating in our inaugural North American and European Playoffs. The top two teams from each playoff will get the opportunity to participate in our 2017 Championship, held in Cwmbran, South Wales.

The Harvest of Champions

Our first playoff will be held in Toulouse, France July 29th-30th. MRDA would like to thank Roller Derby Toulouse for hosting this monumental event, The Harvest of Champions. This will be the very first MRDA co-hosted event held outside the United States!

The MEQ competing teams are:

Tyne & Fear Roller Derby

Toulouse Quad Guards

Manchester Roller Derby

Lincolnshire Rolling Thunder

Panam Squad

Salish Sea Slam

The action continues on August 12th-13th in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. The Vancouver Murder will be hosting the very first North American Playoff, the Salish Sea Slam.

Cymru Clash

The Championship event, the Cymru Clash, will be our largest to date with 12 teams over 3 days competing for the gold. Our June rankings gave a bye to the top 8 teams in the MRDA where they will be joined by the top 2 finishers from each playoff to round out the bracket. Actual seeding will be determined by September Rankings so expect to see these top 8 teams working hard all summer even though they’ve already punched their ticket to the main event.
This momentous tournament will be held in Cwmbran, South Wales co-hosted by South Wales Silures Roller Derby. This 3 day event kicks off October 13th.

The MRDA Championship participating teams are:

Saint Louis GateKeepers

Bridgetown Roller Derby

Southern Discomfort

San Diego Aftershocks

New York Shock Exchange

Puget Sound Outcast Derby

Vancouver Murder

Magic City Misfits

All of these events would not be possible without the dedicated officials, volunteers, fans, and of course the skaters on the track. From all of us within the MRDA, thank you and we look forward to seeing you at these events!
